Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology

Dr. Steven Tsai is a physician-scientist who splits his time between clinical practice and laboratory research. His clinical interests include acute leukemia, bone marrow transplant, and non-malignant blood disorders. He is actively involved in translational research on engineered T-cells from various human stem cell sources. The goal is to develop novel cellular therapies for patients with blood cancers.

Dr. Tsai earned his MD and Ph.D. at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He continued at USC for internal medicine residency and then completed his hematology/oncology fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He received his bachelor's degree from Yale University. He is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology and sees patients in Marina Del Rey and Westwood.
