Staff Research Associate
Aileen is from Maryland and graduated from UCLA in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. She became interested in research because of her undergraduate research experience in the Arboleda Lab. She studied rare neurodevelopmental disorders caused by de novo truncating mutations in ASXL genes in order to potentially inform personalized treatments and targeted therapies for these disorders. Aileen is now an SRA in the Crooks Lab studying T cell development in autoimmune and immunodeficient diseases and investigating the mechanisms which lead to thymic involution.
