Post Doctoral Scholar
Xuegang obtained his MS in Polymer Science from University of Akron and PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 2019 at the Florida State University. He did a short-term postdoc training in National High Magnetic Field Laboratory before joining Crooks’ lab. His PhD research focused on understanding and engineering human stem cell microenvironment to maintain cellular homeostasis and enhance efficacy for neural degenerative diseases. He joined Crooks’ lab in 2021, where he is interested in understanding in vitro T-lineage commitment on both microenvironment and epigenetic level. He is also working on the engineering aspects of artificial thymic organoid (ATO) system to facilitate the production of “off-the-shelf” conventional immunotherapy. Besides science and engineering, Xuegang loves movies, music, reading and exploring the City of Los Angeles.
